Winter reigneth o'er the land
Dead and bare the tall trees stand
Freezing with its icy breath
All is chill and drear as death
Yet it seemeth but a day
Since they stacked the balmy hay
Since the summer flowers were here
Since they reaped the golden ear
Sunny days are past and gone
Onward ever each new one
Sunny years go speeding past
Swifter speeding than the last, than the last
Life is waning, life is brief
Each day like the falling leaf
Death, like winter, standeth nigh
Soon shall fade and soon shall die
But the sleeping earth shall wake
And the flowers shall burst in bloom
And all nature rising break
Yes the sleeping earth shall wake
And the flowers shall burst in bloom
Like a river cascades the trees
Suddenly the scented breeze
The air is floating with things alive
And green and white here really thrives
