Well i went down town to see a friend of mine
He was a very good friend indeed
I sat on the floor and asked him if he'd like
To partake of some very fine weed
He said "man that's some kind of big mistake you've been making
Cos i've been getting into meditating
And it looks like you need a spiritual lift"
So i gathered up the bits and split
And everywhere i go, people are gettin' religion
Everywhere i go, they're seeing the light
Everywhere i go, they're following someone
I only hope that someone has got it turned right
Well i happen to know, these two young ladies rather well
Who lived in a world of dens of sin
Everything i did, they had a soft spot for me-aden
Would encourage them to do rude things
They said "man you must be joking
We're through with all that, our guru says we must'nt and he knows where it's at
Judging by the look you've got on your face
You're in need of his divine embrace"
And everywhere i go, people are gettin' religion
Everywhere i go, they're seeing the light
Everywhere i go, they're following someone
I only hope that someone has got it turned right
Well i was trucking along in my motor one day
When i saw these two people by the road
They were smelly and hairy and looked kind of laky
(like most of the people i know)
Well i stopped, they got in, i lit up a fine
And then they proceeded to give me the good news
How they'd been born again
Now stop for the rest of way
Now all these different people
They've got their own kinds of heaven
But i know where i want to go when i die
Straight up a tube, in a great white cloud
To the great neon in the sky
And everywhere i go . . .
