She said my name, it felt like a riddle
Her hand warm but heavy in mine
There’s love in her eyes, I can see it
A weight I’m not ready to bear
I want to feel it, to let it fill the emptiness inside me
Numbness is creeping in
The harder I try
To grasp it
The more distant
It all becomes
I head for the door
“Please don’t go”, she says
“You’ll remember soon”
"Stay with me", she begs
Her hand grabs my arm
The door calls my name
Her eyes plead with me (resist it)
I need time to think
You say if I just stay, pieces fall into place
I need to find myself to return the love
Just let me go from the undertow
Or watch as the inner rage unfolds
Return the pieces you stored away
Nothing’s left here for me to say
I’m trying, yes I'm trying
Im trying but it yields nothing
I travel into the mist of the unknown
Now there is no turning back
