Today I will wear my favorite dress
With my prettiest shoes
And tie a ribbon in my hair
Giving the sidewalks
A good pink icing
With sugar sprinkles of color
Flashing through the pavement
Buried beneath roses and lilacs
I rise every morning
To catch up on my dreams
Hidden like secret capsules
Deep within my memories
And float through the park
Whispering and giggling
Invisible to others
I skip over water, not a ripple
Betrays my dance
But the birds see
Whisps of snow blow through
My invisible lashes
Love is stronger than bone
Alone with paper masks of monsters
And colored ribbons
A lost melody from afar
I am but a shadow
A silhouette in the dusk
Charting neglected longing
And trailing whisps of laughter
Into the darkened parlor room.
