Luck plays favorites every chance it gets
When nothing's going your way
Once upon a time everything was fine
Once was yesterday
When luck plays favorites with the other kids
And you feel left out
And all on your own but you're not alone
When you got your doubts
But your doubts can be rotten company and so hard to bear
Cause they never know when its time to go and they don't care
I know it isn't fair
Luck is a spoiled child who runs a bit too wild
She plays her little games
When she decides to play - luck can go either way
To her, it's all the same
She has two different halves - one side good, the other bad
A split personality; she'll smack you with a fist or with a big wet kiss
But you'll never know which it'll be
Remember no harm is meant, luck is indifferent
It's nothing against you
It's a game whether or not the chips are down or dice stay hot
There's nothing more you can do
Than to show her that you're tough, try to call her bluff
Cross your fingers and pray
She may play favorites when you're least expecting it
Good luck will come your way
When luck plays favorites and you're sick of it
'Cause nothing's going your way
There will come a time, things will be just fine
Like they were yesterday
