I had this dream the other day
I was sitting in the surf on my surfboard
It was about the middle of the day
The surf wasn't much good
But all the other surfers had gone in
(the wonderous world under the sun)
And i looked out towards the horizon
(now, this world is full of fun)
And i saw this big black cloud rolling in
And casting a shadow on the sea
But as it got closer, i realised it wasn't a cloud
(and i was riding on a wave)
It was a wave, monsterous great wave
200-feet high, coming straight towards me
(and i know everything is here, and i know)
And i caught it, not many people did, no one did but me
I did
Surfing again, i was surfering it down
Surfing again, i was surfering it down
Surfing again, i was surfering it down
Surfing again, i was surfering it down
This is a coward
Wondering where nothing lay
And i wanted, bought it
And i lied it, and i bought it all
And i bought it all
And the next thing i noticed was that
(the wonderous world under the sun)
From the top of the wave
(it was fun, it was fun)
I could look down on the beach
And see all the people running inland
Getting in their cars
(it was fun, it was fun)
And driving as fast as they could
And other people were climbing up the hills to escape
But it was no good
The wave hit the beach a thousand feet high
(i was running on the world)
And careened straight on inland
Smashing houses and trees
Killing people and animals
(and i know everything is there, and i know)
And as the wave swept overhead
They'd all look up and see me
Riding on the crest of the wave
Surfing again, i was surfering it down
Surfing again, i was surfering
Catching a wave is like burning down a snowy slope sometime
No one knows you're mine
No one knows the time when it's allowed
Finally, the wave broke the mountain range
And careened straight on across the desert
But the desert was big, so big, in fact
The wave didn't have a chance
And the desert soaked up the wave
And it slowly diminished in size
Smaller and smaller
Until finally, only a metre high
And with me still on top
We flop to a halt in the middle of nowhere
Thousands of people were killed
Houses were destroyed
And i was left high and dry three hundred miles inland
And that's all i can remember
Surfing, and i was surfing down
Surfing, and i was surfing down
Surfing, surfing
Surfing, and i was surfing down
Surfing, and i was surfing down
Surfing, surfing
Surfing, and i was surfing down
Surfing, and i was surfing down
Surfing, surfing
